Sajen Legal Founder Transitions to Role of Strategic Advisor

9 May 2024: Leading Queensland commercial litigation Queensland law firm, Sajen Legal, has announced that founder Kyle Kimball, will step down from his roles as director and litigator as he transitions to the role of Strategic Advisor.

Since commencing his articles in 1988, Kyle has made an indelible mark on the legal landscape. After being admitted to practice, Mr. Kimball quickly established himself as a formidable presence in commercial litigation and insolvency. His expertise and strategic acumen led him to found Kimball Wood Solicitors in 1997, which later evolved into Sajen Legal.

Under his leadership, Sajen Legal has become one of the most respected commercial litigation, insolvency, and business law firms across the region.

Mr. Kimball’s innovative approach to legal practice, particularly his introduction of fixed fee retainers, has revolutionised how clients engage with legal services, fostering transparency and trust. This approach not only enhanced client relationships but set a new standard in legal practice.

“As I transition away from the rigours of daily litigation and firm management, I am excited to tackle my new role as Strategic Advisor,” Kyle said.

“However, after nearly four decades of running a successful law practice, I am looking forward to getting a balance back in my life that allows me to spend more time with my wife and children, who are now all young adults.”

Stepping into their new roles, Tim Borham and Vincent Berry are poised to lead Sajen Legal into its next chapter. Both seasoned lawyers, they bring a blend of innovative thinking and solid experience to their leadership.

“Kyle has been an incredible mentor and leader, and it’s an honour to build on his legacy,” Tim said.

“His unwavering commitment to professionalism, innovation and fighting hard for our clients has earned Sajen Legal a reputation of which we are proud and we will continue that legacy into the future.

“As we take the helm, our focus will be on expanding our practice areas and integrating more cutting-edge technology to enhance our legal services.”

Vincent Berry, who has also earned the reputation of a fierce and capable litigator, added, “Our vision is to enhance the agility of Sajen Legal in responding to the changing needs of our clients. We plan to deepen our commitment to maintaining the many valuable relationships the firm has built over its almost 30 years of operation.

“Kyle’s ongoing guidance as Strategic Advisor will be invaluable as we navigate these exciting developments and we are delighted he will stay involved as Strategic Advisor and help us to remain a leading commercial and litigation law firm, providing advice and mentoring the team as we continue to grow and expand,” he said.
