Monday 6 July 2026: Regional Development Australia Moreton Bay and Sunshine Coast (RDAMBSC) has announced the appointment of respected regional development leader Paul Fisher as its new Chief Executive Officer, strengthening leadership across one of Australia’s fastest-growing regions.
Experienced Regional Development Leader Returns
Mr Fisher returns to the Regional Development Australia network after previously serving as Chief Executive Officer of Regional Development Australia Sunshine Coast from 2018 to 2023, where he played a key role in strengthening stakeholder engagement, advancing regional economic priorities and supporting the region through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
His appointment follows a competitive national recruitment process and comes at a pivotal time for one of Australia’s fastest-growing regions.
Leading One of Australia’s Fastest-Growing Regions
RDAMBSC Chair Jason Law said Mr Fisher’s extensive experience across both regional development and the private sector positioned him strongly to lead the organisation into its next chapter.
“Paul brings a unique combination of regional development expertise, commercial acumen and a deep understanding of our region’s opportunities and challenges,” Mr Law said.
“He has a proven track record of building productive partnerships across government, industry and the community, and delivering outcomes that support economic growth and regional prosperity.
”As our region continues to experience significant population growth and increasing demand for infrastructure, jobs and investment, Paul is exceptionally well placed to lead RDAMBSC’s work in identifying opportunities, addressing constraints and advocating for initiatives that deliver long-term benefits for our communities.“
Most recently, Mr Fisher served as Chief Commercial Officer of RAIDER Targetry, leading commercial strategy and business development initiatives. His broader career spans senior leadership roles across both the public and private sectors, providing a strong foundation for driving regional economic development outcomes.
Focus on Economic Growth and Investment
Mr Fisher said he was delighted to be returning to the Regional Development Australia network and contributing to the continued growth and success of the Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast and Noosa region.
”I am honoured to be joining RDAMBSC and look forward to working with the Board, our partners and stakeholders and the broader community to advance the economic and social development of our region,“ Mr Fisher said.
”The Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast and Noosa region is one of the most dynamic and fastest-growing areas in Australia, with significant opportunities across advanced manufacturing, defence, aerospace, health, tourism and emerging industries.
“Regional Development Australia plays an important role in bringing together government, industry and community leaders to identify opportunities, address challenges and help unlock the region’s full potential.
”I am excited to be part of that work and to help ensure our region continues to attract investment, create jobs and build strong, resilient communities.“
Mr Fisher will be based at RDAMBSC’s offices and will lead the organisation’s ongoing work to support sustainable economic development across the City of Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast and Noosa local government areas.
The appointment reinforces Regional Development Australia Moreton Bay and Sunshine Coast’s commitment to supporting regional economic development, investment attraction and long-term prosperity across Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast and Noosa.
